THE
OTIUM FOUR-WAY TEST
The Four Way Test is the template for success
at Otium. Developed by the Rotary Club in 1942, and adopted
by countless businesses over the years, the following 24
words provide a framework for decision making both in business
and in life by emphasizing truth, fairness and consideration.
The Four Way Test of the things we think, say, or do:
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build good will and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

The OtiumLife |
|
Life is GREAT at Otium! We strive for a goal-oriented, collaborative, laid back work culture with a real balance between work and play. We work hard, but we play hard too. We believe that enjoying what we do each day makes us more productive – and that is our bottom line.
By "goal-oriented, collaborative, laid back work culture", we mean come as you are, understand the vision, and participate in the business. We are laid back but not lazy; unstructured but always looking toward the end result; hardworking but always fun-loving. We want the person we hired, not a “yes-man”. We want people who think through a project, not someone who just works the task.
So come in with your conservative “power-tie” or your mellow hemp neck-band; show-up in your official replica Lance Armstrong Tour de France Yellow Jersey or your favorite vintage tee-shirt; wear your Ferragamo loafers, your Manolo heels, or your Adidas soccer sandals (no black socks, please!). Decorate your work area with your vintage collection of 1920’s era nightclub posters or your less than vintage collection of Dot.com Bubble Era logoed pens and pencils. Bring whatever you’ve got - just as long as you always bring your “A-Game”.
