Modern stone residence at dusk, with uplit facade and trees and lit steps rising across the lawn to the drive
The Otium Group  /  Aledo · Parker County

The acreage is the point.

West of Fort Worth, the homes sit farther apart and the land does more of the work. We have been designing for it since 2004.

The difference out here

An Aledo estate is rarely one building. There is a barn, a pool house, a gate at the end of a long drive, a shop that needs the same network as the kitchen. Most integrators design for a subdivision lot. Out here, the distance between structures is the whole problem — and the part we are best at.

What it takes

Networking that reaches every structure.

Fiber and point-to-point links to the barn, the shop and the guest house, managed as one secure network.

Landscape lighting at acreage scale.

Tree canopies, long drives, and the fence line — designed to read from the road and from the porch.

Security across the whole property.

Gates, outbuildings and long approaches, covered by The Otium Group, Inc — Security Division, and monitored around the clock by a UL-Listed central station.

Light and shade inside.

Lutron lighting and motorized shades on the west glass, where the Texas sun is hardest.

One system.

Control4 ties it together. Goodnight closes the gate, arms the house and walks the landscape down to accent light.

Where we work

Our work runs through Aledo River, Rancho Ladera, Willow Park and Weatherford, and the ranch properties between them that belong to no neighborhood at all. More than fifty homes across Aledo and Parker County.

Bluejack Ranch opens this autumn, and we are already at work there.

The Dream Home

We have designed the home automation and shading for every Fort Worth Magazine Dream Home since 2013, and a home on each of its Dream Streets. This year’s is here, in Aledo River. Tour it October 31 through November 15. (opens in a new tab)

For builders

We have worked alongside most of the custom builders in Parker County and west Fort Worth. If you have built with us before, you know how we work. If it has been a while, call. Bring us in at plan review — before the walls close.

For homeowners

Most of our work begins with a homeowner who tells their builder they want us. Tell yours.

Common questions

Do you serve Aledo and Parker County?

Yes. We have worked in Aledo, Willow Park, Weatherford and the surrounding ranch country since 2004, from our base in Fort Worth.

Can you network a barn, shop or guest house hundreds of feet from the main house?

Yes. We run fiber or point-to-point wireless between structures and manage everything as one secure network, so the camera in the shop and the speakers in the kitchen are on the same system.

When should we bring you into a new build?

At plan review. Wiring, conduit, shade pockets and landscape lighting circuits are decided before the walls close. Afterward, every one of them costs more.

Do you work with my builder?

Very likely. We have worked alongside most of the custom builders in Parker County, and your builder does not need to have used us before.

Can you take over an existing system?

Yes. We take over existing Control4 and Lutron systems, keep the wiring and hardware that is sound, and re-document everything.
