Between the lake and the oaks.

Flower Mound lies between Grapevine Lake and Lake Lewisville, in the rolling oak country of the Cross Timbers. We design homes that light that land well and live quietly inside it.

A town that kept its land

The town is named for a real place: a twelve-and-a-half-acre mound of native tallgrass prairie that settlers named for its wildflowers. It has been held in a permanent conservancy since 1983 and a State of Texas historic site since 1984.

Flower Mound has guarded the rest of its land the same way. In the Cross Timbers Conservation Development District, at the center of town, a new development may build no more than one home for every two acres, on lots of at least three-quarters of an acre, and must leave at least 45 percent of its land open.

Homes among the oaks

A house set into old oaks asks for a different kind of design. The trees are the view from every room, the landscape lighting has to work with them rather than against them, and the network has to reach a pool and a terrace through a canopy. We plan all of it with the architecture, before the walls close. Just north, across FM 407, Highland Village runs to the south shore of Lewisville Lake, and we work there the same way.

What it takes

Light beneath the oaks.

Uplighting on the trunks and moonlighting from high in the canopy, so the light falls through the branches the way the moon does.

A network for the whole lot.

On acre homesites and larger, coverage to the pool, the terrace and the far edge of the trees, managed as one secure network.

Light and shade inside.

Lutron lighting and motorized shades on the west glass, where the Texas sun is hardest.

Security.

The Otium Group, Inc — Security Division, monitored around the clock by a UL-Listed central station.

One system.

Control4 ties it together. Goodnight lowers the shades, arms the house and walks the landscape down to accent light.

Common questions

Do you serve Flower Mound?

Yes. We design and install home technology across Flower Mound, from our base in Fort Worth.

Can you light the mature oaks on our lot?

Yes. We uplight the trunks and moonlight from the canopy, so the light falls through the branches the way the moon does.

When should we bring you into a new build?

At plan review. Wiring, conduit, shade pockets and landscape lighting circuits are decided before the walls close. Afterward, every one of them costs more.

Can you take over an existing system?

Yes. We take over existing Control4 and Lutron systems, keep the wiring and hardware that is sound, and re-document everything.
