The Dream Street
On Fort Worth Magazine’s 2023 Dream Street in Oak Alley, we designed the home automation and shading for the English Arts and Crafts residence — at the time, the largest home in the program’s history.
We have designed the home automation and shading for every Fort Worth Magazine Dream Home since 2013, and a home on each of its Dream Streets.
What it takes
Light beneath the oaks.
Uplighting on the trunks and moonlighting from high in the canopy, so the light falls through the branches the way the moon does.
A network for the whole lot.
On half-acre and acre homesites, coverage to the pool, the patio and the far corner, managed as one secure network.
Light and shade inside.
Lutron lighting and motorized shades on the west glass, where the Texas sun is hardest.
Security.
The Otium Group, Inc — Security Division, monitored around the clock by a UL-Listed central station.
One system.
Control4 ties it together. Goodnight lowers the shades, arms the house and walks the landscape down to accent light.
